I just wanted to tell you about some great things going on at Pack 36 in Bay Terrace.
First, we were invited down to Borough Hall today to receive special recognition for our continued dedication to community service. At this ceremony, PACK 36 was awarded the Staten Island Borough President's Community Service Award!
Additionally, because of their exemplary performance, PACK 36 was acknowledged and awarded the honor of being named New York 1's New Yorkers of the Week! Many of the boys were interviewed by a film crew and footage of our recent Coat Drive, as well as the Borough President's ceremony, will be aired this weekend on NY1 television (Friday 1/8 at 6:50pm, Saturday 1/9 at 2:50pm and Sunday 1/10 at 3:50pm).
Finally, in our continued quest to help those who are in need, this Monday 1/11, PACK 36 will once again be holding our annual Blood Drive at Congregation B'Nai Israel, 45 Twombley Ave, SI NY 10306, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. We will be collecting blood to help support Staten Island University Hospital. Although reservations are recommended to avoid unnecessary wait times, we will definitely be accepting "Walk-Ins". Last year, we were able to save SI University Hospital over $5000 with all of our Blood Donations! Our goal this year is to do even better! If you pass the word around, maybe we can reach that goal.
If you have any questions about any of this or want to make a reservation to donate blood, feel free to call me at home 718.227.9564 or on my cell 646.250.4568 any time.
Yours in Scouting and Community Service
